What do you do with the sweet PDZ on your poop boards? Compost it too?

Mike
PDZ, in reasonable amounts, should do no harm to the compost.
As I sift out poops they are 'breaded' with sand/PDZ mix and go straight to my buddies compost. I never put any more than that into the compost bucket, no reason to dump or change out the PDZ ever. I have to add more mix to the boards as needed and only keep a 1/2" deep layer on boards.

I don't use PDZ. I only use in my coop FGDEarth, and only use it on the poop boards, sometimes in the feed when the poop gets runny, and in the nest boxes. As far as the covered chicken runs, I sprinkle FGDE, with a flour duster where they take there dust bathes in the sun. I use pine straw from my pine trees from our farm to cover the dirt floor. When the straw gets nasty, I just add on another layer pine straw, but not FGDE, because of killing any worms, and beneficial insects that come up at night to feed on the waste.

I don't use PDZ either. I only have 3 chickens at present. It's easy to collect what they poop out each night along with a modest amount of the pine shavings bedding they kick up onto the poop board. And I haven't detected even a modest amount of odor in the 2 months they've been in their 4' x 8' coop.
I have been keeping chickens since last April. I now am up to 23, and don't have any oder either. My 16-foot south side of coop is all open and covered with 1/4-inch galvinized steel hardware cloth. All the other walls and two windows or also covered with the steel clothe, covered over with pinetree log slabs, with small cracks in between the wood. That is a big reason that it never smells. I also clean my poop boards every day.
