If it's a laptop you probably have to change the power settings. Make sure the laptop is plugged in and go to the control panel. There should be a section for battery settings. Click that and it will come up with several options but you want to click on advanced options. Go through that list and change all the settings to max power both when plugged in and unplugged. There should be one section that will have percents you can type in. Make sure the min power for the computer to run is set to 100%, not 5%. This probably is really confusing, but let me know if you don't understand. I'll try to explain it better.

I had the same exact problem with my toshiba when I first bought it. I went in and changed those factory power settings and it never shuts off unexpectedly.
