Concerned about a peachick...

Scratch that. He was eating both wet and dry just now, just took a little movement to get him to dig in. Caught him taking a big drink also. Finally he's up and walking.

That was a long 2.5 days with my 6 yr old son let me tell ya.

Sometimes that hatching just takes a lot out of them, good thing that got that yoke to rely on for a few days.

Please post a photo of your pretty

meant to add in a day or two it will be peeping it's little head off running around looking for you every time it hears you all.. be ready.. I have certain ones that cry all the time when they see me, keeping them with hatch mates hasn't helped at all.

I would go easy on the water, as they really require little in the first 24-48 hours, and you can drown them. Remember, birds don't have bladders, they don't pee. The white in a birds stool is their concentrated urine solids-they recycle the fluid part. Try giving the little guy, hard boiled egg yolk. (no white) The egg yolk is what he lived on in the egg, and is easy for the little guys to eat. I find egg yolk really helps the new babies thrive. Good luck

Oh my! This one will not shut up! It peeps constantly, until it can hear us walking to the brooder. As soon as our feet hit the tile floor, it stops because it knows we are coming. EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP EEP.

And now our African Grey is doing it!
