Concerned about changing temp in incubator *When should i candle*

Patience. Concentrate on keeping the bator at a constant temp.

They should be fine. One night, mine went up to 110 degrees when I checked it. My thermometer was not very accurate anyways.

Avoid tinkering with your incubator. Just opening and closing it for a brief moment can affect the temp a lot!

Get it to about 99-100 degrees as best you can and wait.

Let us know how it goes.

Now the temp is fine. I'm not worried anymore, but can someone please tell me when i should candle them for the first time? i candled on day 4, and saw absolutely nothing in all the eggs. All i saw was a dark area where the yolk is, and a light area where the air sac is... am i supposed to see veins by this time? Metzer Farms says day 14, but i have seen pictures of candled eggs on day 4 with started veins, and i just saw a glowing orange egg!

Metzers candling chart is spot on for ducklings.

I used it to gauge mine.

Day 4 is awful early. I know a lot of people candle on day 7.

Give them time.

Ok. So its ok if they all looked completely empty? I new at this so i guess I'm just finding things to worry about lol!
