Hey Everyone!
Yesterday morning when I let my chickens out I noticed that one of my girls, Nutmeg, was a bit slower and more lethargic than usual. Instead of gulping down the water as usual, she took only a few small sips with long pauses between them. She stayed in nearly the same place all day.
Today, again, she is listless and didn't drink much.
I only have 3 chickens, so they are very special, and I can't bear it when one of them gets ill.
Does anyone know why she is like this? Should I separate her?

She has never laid eggs before, comb still a pinkish colour. The feathers just below her vent are sagging a little and just now I noticed all her feathers are quite puffed out.
It does sound as though she's feeling unwell but without many symptoms. You mention that she had a drink, what about food? Has it been exceptionally hot or wet weather?

She ate a little, which reassured me, and the weather has been dry but not too hot.

Perhaps some vitamins or electrolytes would help. I think in you should observe but not intervene too much. Make sure she's pooping and maybe pick her up and compare her condition to the others. Look her over for mites and lice. Without many symptoms it's hard to tell what's wrong.

She is pooping, but it is almost luminous green and quite runny, with a little bit of red. She is also quite unstable. I tried to feed her wet bread to get some water into her as she is no longer drinking, but she refused it

Did you check the coop for red mites and the pullets for lice as well?

Feel her crop, is it bloated and squishy or rather a hard ball? Does her crop empty overnight?

This could be caused by coccidia and can be treated with Amprolium/Corid.

How old is she?
Feel her crop - is it empty in the morning?
