If you really are feeling guilty about not letting them free range as much as you would like, you could always expand on your run and give them more space to get around in. Since we work 8-10 hours daily during the week and can only let them out an hour or so before dusk when they go in, we let them free-range most on weekends when we can supervise and we started feeling same way about wishing we could give them more time because they have cleared their entire run of weeds and grass already and its not a tractor coop/run. We actually are tearing down an above ground pool that came with our house that has surrounding deck and gonna make the deck frame into an extra-large run and put coop inside. We are excited to repurpose the deck wood and frame and also it brings our setup closer to the house so we can keep a better eye on them when we are home. Just a thought. Do not stress too much, there are always solutions!I know it is just me, but I feel so guilty, leaving them in the coop all day long. I feel bad if I don't let them out. I am sure this is something that I will just have to get over. Thank you for all of your help and time. I will go and purchase a few wooden eggs, hopefully that will help them to know to lay in the nest. They seem to like their coop though. They go back in to roost every night. I never have to put them up for the night. They seem to be great happy little chickens at this point. I think they are about four months old. No Cone nor waddle development yet. So I may still have a bit of time still before I see any eggs. Thank you again
