Pecked two large holes in his back till bones were exposed. Lost to much blood. Took him to animal hospital, but it was too late.

That is weird, are you sure their wasn't any predators? How big was the coop you were moving them to?

No, the chickens were inside the whole time, coop is maybe 8x4x7 feet. And the run is 10x10. Including the chicks there 14 chickens. I even made a separate roost for the chicks and put them on it at night.
