Concerning silkies, am I the only person in America

I don't particularly think silkies are chickens, and that's the key thing. I have my silkie roo boy, and I adore him, he's a sweetie and a cuddle bug and really wonderful. But he's a cat that lives outside with the chickens, and that's only because my husband won't let me keep him inside.. lol But he's not a chicken.

So I don't get them as chickens (though silkiechicken clearly does manage to keep hers as chickens and not just fluffy pets), but.. I think they're really bloody adorable pets.

Don't blame the Silkie side....it's the Turken in them.

Just like my Mom always used to say..."You didn't get that from my side of the family!"

Sort of a Klingon/tribble cross.

Was it just me or did anyone else ever want a tribble?

Totally wasn't just you, though I was always uncertain about how to keep it at just ONE tribble, or well, maybe 3-4, but that's it.

(course I'm the woman that refers to her chicks as The Collective, so.. I'm something of a geek

Me, too... and I'll further reveal my geekiness when I warn you about how important it is to keep your Klingon/Tribble crosses away from the poisoned quadrotriticale.

(And your chickens, too.)

I think they're kind of cute, but not really what I wanted in a chicken. I'll probably end up with some though. In addition to our chickens(and ducks) we have angora rabbits. The first time my daughter(10) saw a silkie she squealed "Look Mom! An angora chicken!" It might be fun to breed one to my frizzle cochin too. He's even got 5 toes already.

The trouble with tribbles... is they're like chickens.
You start with a few... and wind up with a ship load!
