Concerns on adding new members

Quote: Will be curious to see how that works out, there's no hard fast rules for integration, what you've done may well be just fine. Just have a place to separate if any blood starts to fly.

I would think that the neighbors birds would stay in their own territory, you don't mention that they come to your place, if your young birds go into the nieghbors territory they'll get chased off and hopefully know to come home. I have no clue tho...lol.

This morning I went to leave them out and I heard my roo making his hesitant noises, so I looked in the coop and all five of my pullets were smooshed together in one nesting box, him in front. There is plenty of room for seen chickens, so I know newbies took over. Not doing that again! I have a coop kit in the garage (big mistake, I should have never bought it, it's garbage!) that I'm going to put together for the two hens to sleep in for a couple days. Once it's put together, I'll take a pic and show you my situation.

That cheap coop might be a good temporary tool, now and in the future.
I wish I had an extra small coop/run like that, I've been using dog crates for segregation hauling them inside and out.

Best of Luck, keep us posted.

No blood, not even a couple feathers. Guess my pullets are submissive, always respect your elders, I guess. Problem is, the other coop is STILL missing pieces, that's the last time I order any "kit" offline. One of the newbies seems to want to be friends, while the other one doesn't hesitate to show whos boss. I have no other option but to put them in the coop together AGAIN tonight.
