Conch Republic Chicks in the Florida Keys

About a week after they started squatting they laid an egg. I know, the waiting is terrible. I thought I had the only chickens that weren't going to lay an egg. LOL
Mine kept getting in their nesting boxes too. The first egg will probably be in the morning. Then each day it is later. When it is later in the afternoon they will skip a day.

I went and got a fan for their coop last weekend, I think they really like it! I do put electrolytes in their water just to be safe. Question, do you offer your girls grit even with a yard of pearock? How is your buff doing?

Yes, I still offered them grit and oyster shell. They ate both of them.
I'm so sad to say .... this past Monday I took my girls to a friends farm in Ocala.
I had another heat problem with my Buff and kept her in the a/c shed for 3 days until we went up there.
They are super happy being free range (coop at night) and foraging through the grass. They started laying eggs the first day.
Happy to hear there was no stress in the transfer.
I miss my girls, but I know this was best for them. One day I will have more land and get chickens again.
