Hi,

We have been thinking of building a new coop for the hens.

At the moment they are in the top field in a chicken tractor, which they love.

But in the winter I like them closer to the house.

We were thinking of building a coop using concrete blocks and having a concrete floor too.

I have had a look online but I can't see any plans for a concrete coop, which made me think that it could be a bad idea!!

Does anyone know if it would be ok to make it? We have lots of foxes here.

Thanks xxx

I do not see an issue with a concrete block coop. You likely do not see much on plans as concrete block is likely not the least expensive way to go, but if you have access to concrete blocks or don't mind the cost , why not. Just keep in mind the ventilation and other main points to keeping a happy flock.

Good Luck

Good to hear. Sounds like Fort Knox of Chickens is coming then. Be sure to posts pics if you do.
