Concrete Sand In Run?

If so, I found out that they want $61 for shipping (to Utah), which actually brings the price for me up to $100 for a 44 lb bale. Ouch!

Amazon had a 33 lb bale for $56.95, and free shipping, but that's still pricey. I think this is a substrate that may work for some people who can go pick it up, but for those of us who need it shipped, it's cost-prohibitive.

Which is why I ended up with sand in the first place...I live in the desert and it's plentiful here, from quarries that offer coarse sand with very few "fines" / dust, relative for sand.

Yes saw both sites ! Is pricey ! $61 for delivery is crazy ! Looks like great product though but I guess I’ll stick with sand! I get it free ! Can’t beat that! Construction sand from quarry , my husbands runs the asphalt plant there gets it for me whenever I want:)

The sand will settle down into the gravel, may totally disappear.
Sand doesn't work like shavings.
Shavings, or better yet wood chippings in run, will dry out poops and the carbon in the wood will help break the poops down.
Tho you may be able to sift the poops out of sand, you'll never get it all and eventually the sand and/or gravel will become saturated with pulverized poops and stink when the least bit damp.
I agree. I used sand in our run before and if it got a little damp it smelled awful. We cleaned it every day and it still didn't help. The ground also completely ate the sand up in no time. Wood chippings are great for runs!
