I thought I would use my concrete stamps that I have for making stepping stones to dress up the doorway to my Chicken Run. I set the post for the gate, then made about a 10 inch deep threshold to discourage any critters from digging under the gate.

The stamping of the concrete was not so easy to do. The concrete stayed very watery, it was a humid day. I experimented and had to smooth it out many times because it was just not ready to be imprinted. Then when it was finally ready, it was setting up very quickly!

Here is how it turned out.

I found out yesterday, the feedstore will not be ordering chicks until the last part of September!! So I don't have to be in a great hurry now to finish my chicken coop!

So it is a letter stamp set you bought to use! Excellent idea.

I think those are the greatest markers I have seen for home garden use. I love them.

What do you use for cement molds, and how do you get the cement to release from them?

Very cool!

I've just started getting into making stepping stones. I've been wanting to mark some trees, will have to do that!
