We had a long battle with red mites, but seem to have FINALLY won Obviously my hens' condition took a hit from the mites and I have had them on Nutrena Feather Fixer and Poultry Cell to try and help them improve.
Their combs are not as pale as they were, but they're also not as red as they used to be before the mites. Their feathers look a little dishevelled. How soon should I expect this to improve?
Finally, and most confusing of all - they are laying FEWER eggs now than they were when the coop was infested with mites? Is it possible that they just happened to start moulting now? (It's the middle of summer though and I see no feathers in the coop/run).
They free range all day and there is no bullying, so that's not the issue.
