Condition of leg skin on on Rooster?

I have a question regarding the skin condition on the legs of my neighbors rooster who has claimed our hens and coop. He is a black rooster and the scales/skin on his legs are grey colored which I am sure is normal due to his coloring. I have noticed that it looks like the scales have been rubbed off and you can see large areas of pink, is this normal? Is there something wrong with him and should I try and keep him away from my girls?

He could have been fighting, or trying to get inside your coop, and bumped some scales off.
However, worst case scenario, he could have scaly leg (look on this forum for pics) If he has scaly leg, keep him away, or treat him aggressively for these mites before allowing any contact with your girls.

I've seen pictures of scaly leg mites before and have seen it in person as well in someone elses flock (I wore different shoes and washed up well after being around them). It didn't look like that to me, but heck I am new at this. I'll do some more reading on it. It is more long skinny strips running up and down his legs that are pink and looks like his grey scales are peeling or shredded away....he could very well have been fighting as the neighbor has several roosters!
