I have a couple hens and a roo with purple areas on their cones. Does this mean there is a lack of blood supply? They are eating and acting normally. What does this mean and what should I do?
Thanks for any help!

My husband says probably blood circulation problem. In the winter, they will be purple if frostbit. but its not cold enough for that. I dont know why all of those critters would have it though. if they dont act funny, its probably a good thing. But, id still look into it more., Sorry i cant help more.

Can you post a pix?
Does it look like an injury? scab? blueberry stain?

Sometimes a dark comb can indicate circulation or heart problem, but there is not enough info.

If they are acting fine I wouldn't worry too much.

Last year I started to freak out cause one of mine's comb turned black. The next day it washed off in the rain- just dirt.
