conflicting readouts

So, whatever you set the dial at, it goes 10+ points higher. Is that right? If that's the case, then, if you set it to 25ish, you should get a little over 35. Right? Dealing with instruments that are off is a pain, but if the readings are at least consistent, you can get a good idea of what to do. Happy fuzzy-butts!

Blahhhh!! Yes, the hum is 10% higher than the dial is set at. At least its consistant and I can plan around that. The cheapy is now saying 58. Its cold here, the heaters on in the house. Now I'm wondering how right that one is. Grrrr!

temp dont have much effect on humidity,,,, it can be freezing,, and still 90% humidity,,, thats how we get snow

if you have a rainy day,, humid @ 90% outside ( you can have HIGH humidity and NO rain) the heat will only take it down a little,, like when its 100 out and raining,, your filter may take a few off it too,, but not alot. if your getting 50 % humid, inside with heater on, i bet outside is only 10% higher,, if that.

I just checked our current weather and the outside humidity is 33%. Seems kinda low to me but I don't know a lot about dew points and humidity and stuff like that. I put it back in the bator and its dropping, down to 52%.GRRRR!

how long has the bator been on?
i would leave it on and turn off the humid control,, or turn it all the way down, and leave it till morning. then you'll get a truer reading,,, and DONT open the bator or your room humid gets in and ya gotta start all over again.
