confused chickens?

Do roosters ever get confused and sit on eggs, like hens?

I have a drake who sat on a nest for a couple of weeks this last spring.

I don't know if it's out of confusion, but I have heard of it before. A rooster will help a hen by keeping the eggs warm while she goes out for a bite. Very sweet!

We have a borrowed Tom turkey. He sets on the turkey guinea and sussex eggs that are laid every day.
