confused..help!

we have 3 silkie chichens 1 rooster and 2 hens..the hens are laying fine..butntoday i went out to the pen and the rooster attacked me and the more dominent hen attacked him and they fought for about 5 min nothing bad no blood just feathers flying..it looked like 2 roosters fighting and then the rooster started to crow and then then hen crowed,my mouth droped i was amazed what is going on with that?

Your Hen Squaked loudly or she crowed ? Have you seen her lay Eggs? I was very shocked to find out one of me "Hens" was a rooster when I first started I Also Had a Very aggressive rooster once and now I know this will sound silly.. But a Farmer friend of mine said to grab him up and hang him upside down by the legs ! And scold him bad.. He seemed very serious and I Laughed when he told me to do it.. But ya know one day he Just came after me one to many times..I Looked around carefully double checking I was indeed alone.. And I DID IT !! I spoke Very Harshly to him leaving him upside down a full minute while I lectured him .. LOL It worked !!!!!

I have heard that silkies can be very hard to sex until they lay an egg or crow. And hens do occasionally crow, but not usually if there is a rooster around.

yes she crowed and yes she is a hen in fact the rooster she was fighting with came from her..we hatched him from an egg...she lays an egg everyday..she has always been dominate but was just so crazy for her to attack him when he attacked me.....she did crow right after he did....she is an older hen and runs all the other chickens.. we have 4marans in with them they are younger and 2 of them are roosters and she runs them also along with the 2 other maran hens.. there has never been any problems with the rooster and her until he attacked me then she went at him...it was realy weierd...its always been very peaceful in the coop till this..so iam confused as to why this happened.i also have 2yunger americona hens in a seperat coop attached to there coop so they see each other we tryed adding them but the silkie rooster attacted them so we put them back in the smaller pen..he is a sweet rooster we can hold him since we raised him from an egg..this today was just crazy

i will try that for sure..but the funny thing is my husband can be in there with me and he dosent bother me...he loves him and when my husband picks him up and codles him ,when he puts him down he does this little dance it is so funny to watch...so as long as my husband is there he is fine..i bring them treats and food so this was just crazy fo them to act this way today
