Confused over this little one

Was wondering what breed this could be..as before dad was a Buff Orpington and what is bugging me this chicken has all dark golden

feathers but is now starting to grow pure black tail feathers..mom could have been either a barred rock or a Buff Orpington..I thought that if mom was a barred rock and dad was Buff Orpington the chick would be black and a male from sex link!! Confused lol..

If the mom is a barred rock then the male offspring from that cross should be barred, like the mom. Not sure what the females would look like. Could the parents have some mixes in their background?

All the parents are pure bred..

Mom had to be the buff. Buff birds often get black or smuttiness in the tail feathers if they're not carefully bred for a pure color. Hatchery birds often have some dark color to the tail.

Thanks for the info..Me and my wife were just out looking at them and she says we have 3 Roos out of five but I think we have 4 out of five well one def. is cause he had his first crow the other day lol..
