Confused re duckling food?

I would also look for an "all flock" food. There are a few different brands commonly carried and generally range from 18%-20% as others have mentioned. Purina Flock Raiser specifically says it can be fed at all ages whereas I believe the Nutrena Naturwise and the Country Feeds all flock say that they are for adult bird on the bag. In any case, the nutritional analysis is slightly different from a layer feed. A grower feed is a good option as well.

If you want to compare specific feeds you can look them up on @Texas Kiki 's feed comparison chart. At the bottom are tabs to select all flock or layer or whatever.

Yep! The Nutrena all flock is for adults and is also in pellet form which I love. Less messy than crumbles and not as much waste.
The Nutrena meat bird is crumbles and can be fed to ducklings. :)

This brings up a great point. With ducklings and chicks I feel like crumbles are nice because with their smaller size they are easier to eat.

After i ran out of duckling food, about 2½ weeks in i switched my Spring Ducklings to the Meatbird-Crumbles from the local Rural-King. I think that stuff has 16% protein, but my ducklings received generous amounts of meal-worms, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet-potatoes, peppers and apples too. Almost seven weeks in, they are together with my "old" ducks outside and all enjoy a diet of meatbird-pellets, cracked corn, treats and whatever they can find in the grass/mud.
Do not feed layer feed to ducklings! It has way too much calcium and can cause kidney problems.

The moment i introduced pellets to my ducklings, as well as to the ducks, the crumbles were ignored. The ducklings were about four weeks old when i grabbed a handful of pellets - i was just too lazy to walk from the garage around the whole house to the work-platform and get a bag of meatbird crumbles - so i tried the pellets and they were hooked immediately.
But you're right, for smaller ducklings the crumbles are nice.

I just looked at the Nutrena web site, and it shows crumbled all flock in a pink bag now. I have never seen this bag before. It doesn't show the one I've been buying. Flock I hope they aren't taking it off the market! I hate the crumbles for adult birds! :th

this is what I've been getting.

Maybe they are just going to offer both?

The store I go to has it in the pink bag as crumbles. I also have only ever seen Purina Flock Raiser as crumbles, but I hear it comes in both. I suspect stores just order one or the other and won't stock the same feed as both pellets AND crumbles.

I just e mailed Nutrena and asked about it.
It used to show my purple bag on the web site so I'm worried about it! My ducks will be ticked if I can't find their pellets anymore.
