After building a house with controlled ventilation and several coops I am convinced that ventilation is mostly about how often the air inside the building is replaced. Meaning that in a house all our waste is deposited out of the house, but for a chicken it is deposited in the house. That is the ammonia component. Then there is the moisture from breathing. THey are more densely populated in a coop than in our homes.
I have tried building several different style coops. None have met my expectations. I'm trying the woods design next.
Have you considered the wood style coop? At the end of the book are several similar designs.
