Confusing broody

My broodies still haven't committed to sitting all day it's seems like it's taking them forever for them to go fully broody they just puff and cluck everyone.

you can use this time to collect fertilised eggs to put under her for when she does commit. I put a couple of plastic eggs in their nests to encourage them during this 'pre-broody' stage. You can tell when she has commited because she will stop laying.

Finally she has decided to sit all day she usually only goes till 2 O'clock but she never left I think it's because we got a cold front and it didn't get to the 90s

If she stays sitting for 24 hours and she's stopped laying, there's a good chance she is committed to brooding. However, if she's still laying it's still too early.

Thanks, she sure did take awhile to decide if she wanted to sit or not most of mine are like that for a day then sit the next day from there on out.
