I have a white chinese who's about 4 years old. Over the past 6 months, he's been slowly losing weight, despite grazing all day every day on poultry feed and greens. When I first noticed his weight loss, it was cold out and I assumed he would plump up as there were more plants available. At one point, it seemed this would be true as he did gain a bit of weight.

A few weeks ago I lifted him up. I don't do this often, as he hates it. I noticed his sternum jutting out just enough to concern me. So I wormed him with Wazine and fed him extra, hoping to fix the issue. Yesterday I lifted him up again, and his sternum was even more pronounced, jutting perhaps a half an inch from his breast. Due to his feathers, it was completely unnoticeable until I felt for it.

I'm in a bit of a panic now; I raised him from a day old gosling. He's my singular goose, and has never been around any other geese so I'm skeptical of it being coccidiosis. (Apparently goose and duck coccidiosis can't cross contaminate.) Clearly it isn't roundworms, as I treated him for those. I have a call out to the vet to ask about getting a fecal float, but I thought I'd ask the community for advice while I wait.
