confussed about feed

Each company manufactures its feed differently, that's why there are different recommendations for how long to feed it to chicks. All chick feed is not the same.

The schedule on the bags and the books that I have read are confusing.

What I do when I get my chicks in the spring (hopefully have my own) is mark on the calender when they started and watch there progress and I also mark on the calender when there next or change of feed should be.

That has been the easy way to do it. But I keep with the same brand of feed. When they are into the Layer feed if I dont like what it is doing then I ask what brand everyone else is using to try. But you will have to try for several months you have to see how fast or slow that they are eating to see it is upsetting to them.

To me it is like kids some are picker than others.
