It looks like she's always been missing them, so whether inheritable or not, appears to be something she was hatched with. It's too regular (same toe on both feet and looks the same on both) to be an injury or due to too much wear.
That is what I was thinking.
thats a thought, my neighbor kept a couple chickens in a rabbit hutch (think off the ground with 1/2" mesh floor) and weasels ate their toes![]()
Ewww, Yuck, that is horrible. I have a 1" mesh floor in their mobile coops so I don't have to muck. As far as I know, this pullet is the only ones missing toes and as RedDrgn said, it is probably too clean and too regular to be trauma. I've looked at quite a few of my chicken's feet recently because i have been banding them for ID purposes.
