My little bantam cochin rooster has been congested and sneezing going on 2 weeks. I have been watching him closely. He is still active, happy, and eating well. None of my other hens are affected. I hate to medicate unless absolutely necessary, but I broke down over the weekend and purchased a small bag of tetracycline. I am not even sure it will be effective. Should I medicate him or does he just have a cold that will eventually get better on it's own?

not sure, but you can type in the search engin, sneezing/congestion and see if you can get some info. But what I do know is that he needs to be separated from the others, if he has a respiratory problem he can spread it to the others. I would at least take him inside were it is warm, give him some electrolyte solution and chicken vitamins to give him some strenght, not sure if respiratory illnesses are viral or bacterial, so not sure if antibiotics will work, but if you look if up you can find out that info. good luck with him.
