Just wanted to share a picture of the buck my hubby took early in the season!!
Wow! I agree! a beaury! are crossbows legal for anyone? I have friends that used ro go ro OHIO for muzzle loader season, thay got some nice bucks too. Congrats!
As far as I know crossbows are legal for anyone with a hunting license, landowners and youth with hunting classes. Oh yes Youth gun season starts today... I hope my DH remembered to wear orange!!!
Nice Buck. Congrats. Must be an Ohio thing because I didn't think crossbows were allowed for hunting anymore either. I used to teach Hunter Education in Washington State. But they might have relaxed the law a bit since then.
Yes, I did find where crossbow hunting is now legal in most states for disabled hunters or during certain seasons. Boy have they changed the laws.
This is the blurb for Ohio
Crossbows legal during archery season; Draw weight must not be less than 75 pounds and no more than 200 pounds.
That opens up a whole new world to hunting.
Great job on the buck. We know who will be eating good this winter.
Yes crossbows have always been legal for anyone here in Ohio. I mean, as long as I can remember. My hubby has a underlying shoulder problem that prevents him from pulling back a compound and holding it there for periods of time which is why he has always used a crossbow.
Thanks for all the congrats!! He was pretty happy and I was happy that we got almost 50 pounds of meat!!! He still had 2 urban tags to fill though before gun season starts....hope he can get to use them!!!
Crossbows are legal in MI too. Nice buck!
Nice buck..hubby just missed his little one!
Very healthy looking big buck, congrats!
