Connecticut!

I like to hatch when the chickens are in their prime breeding and laying cycle naturally without lights, lamps, etc.... So usually March then I have broodies raise them so I don't need to worry about keeping them in brooders with heat lamps etc..... Unless ofcourse I have too many hatch (like last year) Then I do have to break out the small brooder for the first 3 weeks then I move them to the brooding stall that is 12'x8'.

Brinsea makes a really good incubator. I believe that is the brand Pam B. uses you should ask her how she likes it

Lexi is going to do showmanship with the buff pullet. She has been practicing all day. I'll be so proud if she finally goes through with it. She just picked out a white shirt with black pants to look the part. Haha.

I do have a brinsea and I LOVE it. I only have the little one (7 eggs) but I usually fill it and then stick another dozen under a broody, since with silkies, a broody is always available.

Someday, I hope to invest in a big incubator, but for now it works well.

I wish I really really do!! I tried and then he made me take my temp and it was 101 so he said NO WAY! I begged and said if in the morning it is gone then can I go. He said "I doubt it but, we will wait and see" That is the DH's brush off for NO! I was going to take Tylenol and wait 30 mins then take my Temp tomorrow am

I will try to video, but last year at this show, they called the kids up one by one and they sat alone with the judge and did it...so I'm not sure I'll be able to. But, I am taking the camera so I'll try. I think it will be a good first show for her though if they do it this way again this year.

I REALLY do wish you were coming.

Send me a text in the morning if anything changes. We'll be leaving here around 7, so I'll be up bright and early. Just hoping I'll be home close to 4 for the Patriots game!!!!

I would think that show would end early but, didn't you say last time it was really late? Like 5 or something?
