Connecticut!

Mine had had issues with laying shell-less eggs so that contributed to it. She had seemed perfectly fine till i noticed she wasn't running like she use to for treats, and after that it all took place in less than 24 hours. Chickens can be so tough in some ways and so fragile in others.

Interesting...Same here with the sudden onset. I never really had an issue with the shell-less eggs beforehand but did have a couple weird shapes. Even if I was an expert poultry farmer or a avian vet I'm not sure its something I would have caught. Recently I've been getting a wave of softshelled eggs. Have a bunch of new layers plus had 3 roosters in with them so attributing it to stress + youth. Gave them a separate feeder full of oyster shells free choice and seems to resolving. Moved the boys out.

That's the difference between a genetic reproduction issue and immaturity. I had really hoped my girl would grow out of it, most do. but she didn't and within 6 months of starting to lay it was all over.

How can you tell?
Can you tell I don't have kids?

Oh. Assumed that was a kid's movie, and therefore I did not recognize character, just like Thomas the Train references fly right over my head. Maybe not, thus a non sequitur by me....

Oh, no. I don't have kids but I'm a big Nick Parks fan. If you haven't seen it it's worth a rental- it's not really a kids movie. (I'd feel pained to watch most "kids" shows.)
