The drive isn't that bad, and I do like locally sourced grains and no GMO's but for me cost is a major problem. Thank you for checking into it!

Does anyone know where i can get a Silkie chicken nearby to the Naugatuck Valley? I had 2 silkie chicks that i got when i got my others almost 3 months ago, but unfortunately the silkies did not make it. :/ I'm not sure i want to raise just 1 more chick up from baby, but i'd like to add a Silkie hen to my others. Also, looking to not pay too much, as we're so tight on money (isn't everyone?).

A lot to ask, i know. Maybe someone knows someone who has a bunch or an extra that needs a home...
Try Cameron Family Farms in East Haddam. They have Silkie chicks for sale right now and are asking $6. They are only pet quality so if you are not trying to show them or breed them.
We have 3 new gorgeous additions to our flock - and my husband even got his mom out of bed on the way home from getting them to show them off. They are so friendly and have made the transition without a fret. Thank you !!
They are adorable! Good luck!
It was fun... needed more chickens!!! My favorite were the blue slate turkeys??? lovely birds. I sold all my gcm mix chicks and picked up a little guest to keep a rooster I am growing out some company... I was told this was an araucana but I'm thinking she's just a mixed breed ee type bird. Sweet little thing and perfect company for my boy as the chicks I am breeding him to are still in the incubator!

She's a cutie!
Darn, I wasn't able to go! What color were the Chanteclers?
