I shoveled most of the run and put out fresh wood shavings and they finally came out for a couple of hours, but they seemed to think I was responsible for all this miserable white stuff.

Mine stayed in the coop all day. I think it was the wind that was the problem, more than the snow on the ground. We shoveled the run out, so there wasn't much. The wind blowing the snow around was freaking them out. I felt bad that they didn't come out, so I threw some BOSS in the coop for them a couple times today to give them something to do.

What is this stuff

Hello fellow Nutmeger's. Just ran across this thread and figured I should jump in. I'm located in Ashford. I have a small flock now, 4 sex link R/Rs, 1 wh leghorn and 6 muscovy ducks. I'll be looking to expand the flock next year with some GLW. Love the look on those birds. Looking forward to reading all the posts here and seeing if anyone is nearby.

high 40's for the last 2 days and the snow is almost gone.

The girls are happy again and the egg number jumped a little.

Isn't it funny how snow gives you a better appretiation for good weather.
