Connecticut!

They might have just seen a hawk, and mine do the same sort of sound for anything that seems off. I have one that gets ****** off over everything and does the egg sound until she's hoarse, and sometimes I have to give her a tight hug to calm her down. It could be a sign, but I would say it's just your pullets finding their new voices, and just a puberty kind of thing. You never know though, maybe tomorrow morning there will be a surprise waiting for you out there.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.
I guess I'll just have to start keeping an eye out though.

I'm in north central CT. Does any have suggestions on where I may be able to get some pullets? Ideally 6-8 weeks old. I'm open to places in MA as well. Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks!!

Hi halo! We got our baby chicks from mypetchicken.com, and I have nothing but great things to say about them. Your allowed 6 chickens here in Bridgeport not that anyone pays attention to the rules here! We are excited, it's a family project and so far it's great.

Benidicts in Monroe. 17 wk old laying hens for $9.99. They had a couple of chicks in there today that were only a few weeks old. There is also lakeside feed in guilford you could call and ask. Or on mypetchicken.com

Hey there, neighbor in Stratford here. Welcome to the world of chickens. I have a number of mixed breed females, actually picked up one of those 9.99 red crosses last week at bennedicts since more than half of mine are young and won't start laying for a bit I wanted something that will lay a bit sooner. Wishing you luck on your adventure.

Thank you so much. So far we are enjoying the chicks, though the way they sleep sometimes! Man my husband and I have had a few heart attacks already! Hehe

Rocky Hill here. We are starting up our chicken adventure. We hatched out our chicks from an incubator 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately I think we have 4-5 out of the 6 rooster. After rehoming the roosters, I would like to get some buff orbingtons. Anyone know of a local farm for chicks in the fall?
