Thanks Badlatitude for bringing us back into the light. Spent the day preparing for the 3 new chicks I pick up tomorrow from a BYC member! Went to Benedict's in Monroe to buy chick starter and they had a bunch of little peepers for sale. My guy built a nice big roomy brooder. Decided to order 7 more chicks from Meyers. Usually use Murray McMurray, but they want a minimum of 25, and Meyers only asks for 3.

We gathered a boatload of eggs from the coop! Didn't add light this year to give the girls a break, so we've had a long winter without good eggs but spring is here and we're back in business. Zacker, we live in Oxford but wouldn't claim to have pull with town hall. Sounds like you've hit a snag? Hope it works out for you because Oxford is a livestock friendly town.

Hello from Haddam! Our family has grown by 7 over the weekend. MY girls 5 & 7 are now the proud mamas of 7 baby chicks. They love it and the wife and I are looking forward to this adventure. The coop’s almost done. The chicks are warm and happy now in their brooder. Here's a link to our live chicky cam. How cool, huh?

great web cam. My DH tried to set one up in our brooder and it just never happened. I'll have to show him when he gets home from work. He'll LOVE it! Congrats on your new additions. Finish up that coop cuz they grow FAST!!!!! We bought our chicks when our coop was 90% finished but our run wasn't even started. We just barely finished everything before the girls outgrew their brooder. phew!

Welcome from Windham, formerly from Middletown. Enjoy your chicks!!

Hi H23! Bodie, your chicken cam is so cute. we just got a wildlife cam that we're still trying to figure out. it missed the bobcat that came sniffing round the coop yesterday. We officially were declined my request for a chickenstock at Osborndale State Park; to buy, sell, trade chickens someone would have to be a licenced dealer, chicks would have to blood tested and so on. Back to square one.
