We are planning on going Saturday. Not showing.. just looking. I want to see how my daughter's 4H Welsummer compares to the true "show quality" birds.

Of course I'm going to fall in love with 10 other chicken breeds that I just don't have the room to add to my flock! (Remind me to tell hubby we need to move out of town!)

Oh man! I wish!! I'm pushing it here with my silkie roo.... Yours was hatched on my birthday!! If I still had my Silver Spangled hen I'd have to figure out some way to do it. I hope you find him a home!

Thanks Tinman. The way you posted made me think you could buy them in a bundle, sorta. And I was missing out on something really cool.

I actually have a pile of really nice ones I was saving to use in the run after the fall leaves were ruined, but now they are all covered in snow. My run is 10 by 12 so I would need alot to solve my muddliness. I took a hint from you and stole my neighbor's used Christmas tree from their curb. It may not solve the mud problem, but I put it in the run for a wind block. I can't believe it snowa into a covered run.

ADozenGirlz...I agree with chickaddict-- your roo is beautiful, but I have the same zoning.

Thanks, he's really quite a nice bird too.
I was reading about your snow and mud troubles in your run. My run is covered on three sides but with that last wind/snow storm our run got snowed into too! I actually had to shovel out the run and then mix up what was left of it with the sand in the run so the chickens would come out of the coop! Princesses!
I use sand in my run and it's in a very muddy area of our yard but it keeps the run nice and DRY. Think about it, it's great in terms of sanitation too.
