Connecticut!

Mine have been in their coop for 3 weeks I put them in the coop with a heat lamp when they were 3 weeks old. they are now 6 weeks old and I let them in the run all day long with access to the coop when they want. and no more heat lamp at night.

How soon can the chicks go outside? Mine are only 3 weeks old.
Well, it depends on the weather. If they are 3 weeks you probably have them at about 80°, right? It's going to be near that this weekend, so if I were you, I would put them out on Saturday in a safe, secure place outside for a few hours to get a little fresh air. When the night temps are close to their required temp they can go in the coop at night. ie, let's say in a couple of weeks they can be at 65°-70° and that's what the lows are - send them out.

For treats - Seedless grapes cut in quarters to start with.

That is where I went, Benedict Agway.
i never even noticed they were an agway

My chicky ladies are 5+ weeks now and will be going outside soon. With the heat lamp in the coop just to make me feel better. All are 95% feathered so i think they will be ok.

I have them out during the days when the weather is good without any issues

Just watch them if they sleep close together that mean they still need heat.
After six week of age ready to go out, i wait until they 8 week old.

QUESTION FOR MY CT PEEPS:
WHERE in all our state would you recommend someone move, that is very Backyard Chicken-friendly? I'm starting to think ahead; in the next couple of years, if I were to leave New Britain, where could I go? I would be looking for a rental (unless I do end up buying that winning ticket from the CT Lottery) 1 or 2 bedrooms with, of course, a good-size yard.
I know we have is the L.O.R.E. section on here, which is good to start with, but beyond favorable laws/ordinances, I'm thinking of finding places which foster chicken-keeping, that maybe have a pro-chicken spirit or climate.

The Valley towns, Especially Oxford and Seymour would be a good choice but renting a two bedroom house w/ a big enough yard would probably be as much or a little more than buying a smaller house.. have you looked into foreclosures? If you are at all capable at doing work on the house yourself, and dealing with wacky real estate agents there are some deals to be had.

My suggestion is what ever town you would like to move to go to their website and see what the town regulations are for chickens. each town is different and the areas most Pro-livestock are the more rual areas. also look on the FFA website to see where their chapters are, Chances they are in farming comunities
