Crystal wondered where Dapple was.

After he helped Lily put out some of the fire, even though the damage was still immense, Dapple flew back to the island.

Incendia flew over the forest, trying to find anything that the fire had spared. Her wing hurt, so she landed on the burnt remains of an ash tree--now it was just ashes, though.

"That's good," she sighed with relief, "Have you seen Incendia since the fire?"

Gabby's eyes widened, "no, I haven't!"

Mel's warriors began to flood the valley, claiming it as their own.

Crystal was very worried. She whinnied to Dapple, happy to see a friendly face.

Dapple's eyes were fearful. "Crystal, will you...will you be okay?"

Reynardia took out her bow. "Incendia," she said nervously. Incendia could see Mel's warriors coming. She didn't know if she could fly very far, but she'd die finding out if she had to.
