considering getting geese

Do You think that would be the case even if I raise them with some chickens?
How many times the size of chicken would you think a goose is?

My geese have been raised with chickens and ducks they started out as goslings have been around them all their lives and my youngest geese will snatch and grab a chicken in an instant, also a duck I'd never let them be around ducklings or chicks, although before my other geese came my oldest gander 7yrs was a wonderful papa goose to the Muscovy ducklings we had, his attitude totally changed when we add the other 3 geese it's all about them. My LF Brahma hen is about 1/3 the size of my big Embden gander maybe. lol

My ducks just know to stay out of the way of the geese. My geese are having epic battles with each other, because, you know, ganders and spring, but there is no fighting between the species. My muscovy drake did a few rounds with the ganders, and emerged victorious, so although the ducks move out of the way, the drake still reigns supreme out in the yard. I have kept geese in my aviary with my pheasants and teeny tiny quail as well. No fights there either. It may depend on the temperament of the individual geese.

My geese are fine to free range with ducks and chickens. They would not be trustworthy in a confined space. They disn't like my old drake or my old rooster.

Is anyone familiar with ordering from Metzer farms? i cannot find how much their shipping charges are. i have ordered from Murray mcMurray hatchery before and was happy with them but they only sell straight run in the breed i want. does anyone else know of a reliable source for ordering geese?

I ordered from Metzers. Very pleased. Once you select the birds you want, you select shipping date. After that you type in zip code and it will tell you shipping and taxes. If you have any trouble call them. They are great!

I ordered them!
I ordered a brown chinese geese pair and a embden Straight run.
Wasn't planning on getting three birds but they have a minimum order price of 40 dollars.
I can't wait till they arrive
