Considering raising worms for my chickens should i raise meal worms or red worms?

I have 8 pullets. I am new to the world of chickens. I am considering raising worms for a supplement for my hens. NOT as a subsitute for feed! I was wondering if anyone has any advice on this and which one would be the best for them?

never done red worms but meal worms our very easy to breed.

Ok, so how do we raise meal worms? I dig in my chicken yard every day for worms, but they are few and far between right now. When I get worms for them, however, their egg production goes up. So, I am thinking of raising worms for them, especially for the winter.
