Considering Spring Additions. Need some recommendations!

I'm not interested in adding too many birds to our current flock (8 Red Stars and 6 Black Stars). I would however like to add a few Buff Orpingtons a few other types (undecided on those) and possibly a rooster.

I'm wondering what type of rooster would be good if I'm after a really attractive bird that is likely to have a friendly demeanor. Any suggestions?

I've been thinking about a BO roo, they look great, but I am also drawn toward the traditional big old red rooster with the green or black tail...the kind you see on all the rooster towels and statues and such. What breed is that?

Another handsome and userfriendly breed, if for some reason you didn't want a BO, would be speckled sussex.

I thought that's what they might be but I wasn't sure.

RIR are mean roos. when puberty hits them they go over the top. Buffo's I have heard are much gentlier. Jean
