Oh Josie sorry you are sick! That's miserable. Did the stapler work for you? Josie got to see my puppies yesterday too.
I had quite a busy day after I finally got moving and am just now getting caught up on skim reading.
I got a gate panel drug across the muddy yard and into a pen. I got it wired to the posts to divide the pen. Then I decided to try to rebuild a gate I had built for another project and didn't like how it fit. I should have just started over. Tearing it apart and trying to make it smaller wasn't smart. But I finally got it built and it is far from lovely. I got a support on the inside divider and was ready to hang the gate but couldn't find any of the 5000 drills we have around here to drive the screws. Hanging the hinges and putting on a latch will finish the job. That means two more breeds separated.
While I was working in the barn I swore I heard a puppy. I started looking and Cloud had one of her puppies out in the barn. She had to have taken it out there yesterday when I had the gate open cause I had left it closed all day today. She must have taken it there to get it out of the storm last night. He was a hungry little pup for sure.
Then I worked at trying to get the chicken tractor moved. The mud just made it that much worse. I put a heat lamp out there just outside of the hut door so if they got chilled they could get some heat. These birds left an 80 degree climate. I finally got them moved out there very late afternoon. I have the little Breda fowl in the house in a chick bin for now.
Yes Hawkeye, these are brahmas and they do have a standard. However this is an entirely new color and I am sure there isn't a standard for this color. Kind of like some of the new Orpington colors. I am sure when they are grown they would show beautifully, however I doubt a 4H kid would spend this kind of money for a bird. The brahmas and the orpingtons have become my main focus these days. I am trying to get and breed exhibition stock in both. I tried taking some pictures but my camera and the birds weren't being cooperative. The lighting was all wrong and they wouldn't hold still. So use your imagination of what these birds will look like when they are full grown. They're gorgeous even though they did loose back feathers on the trip. Hopefully when they've had a few days to settle down I can get better pictures. The partridge lines are really distinct blue lined with gold.

Tomorrow is going to be another insane day. But I'm not getting up at 5AM again, thank goodness.
I Hope to go get some materials to put up some more pens and such.
