Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I just hope this Dr. takes some action soon before something bad happens. She is such a smart & special little girl & I hate that she has to go through all of this.

That's funny Hawkeye - about your DG - my boyfriend is the very same way. I am starting to get supplies to build the chicken tractor and he's all like.." Let me help you plan it.. etc." lol.. I think it is his true engineer nature that just comes out - he can't help itOMG... I feel your pain!!! Our DH's are soooooo much alike!!! That would be my day. Glad you finally got it done, even though it took more time than you thought. This is why I get things done when my DH is gone! By the time he gets back, I've already painted a room, or built something or whatever it is I want done. And I don't tell him I'm going to do it prior to me doing it-- OR he'll argue with me that I need to wait until he can help... which who knows when that wil be! Which is why I built my chicken coop myself-- if I'd waited on him, it would have never happened. And I'm not sloppy or bad at anything, but I can "make do" and keep on going. Where as he will need to think and stop work if something goes wrong. Sigh.
ooops... DG = DH! Darn keysThat's funny Hawkeye - about your DG - my boyfriend is the very same way. I am starting to get supplies to build the chicken tractor and he's all like.." Let me help you plan it.. etc." lol.. I think it is his true engineer nature that just comes out - he can't help itI don't think he'd admit this to anyone - but - I think he enjoys all this crazy chicken stuff as much as I do! Shhhh..... don't tell him I even suggested such a thing!
Thanks for the additional uses.. .on the oxine.. I think i like the cleaning idea's ..I use oxine for more and more all the time. I use it for lots of my household cleaning. (Not that cleaning is high on my priority list. I put it in my mop water, clean tubs, sinks, wipe of counters with it. I used it to remove the musty smell from an old wood antique. I use it to clean the incubators, chicken houses, brooders, feeders, waterers etc. I have used it in a vaporizer for sick chicks but I was told not to activate it. I had used it activated a couple days before I learned that. I've even put some of the non-activated in some laundry. I was afraid the activated would cause bleaching. I've even put a tiny amount in chicken waterers with no ill effect.
I haven't heard of the athlete's foot use. Does it clear it or just heal the effects of it. Seems I get a little itchy in the summer when I wear sandals a lot. I always get my feet wet watering the birds and I think that is why.
bbsnooks, I did some research on the stuff you said you had. It is very similar but not quite the same chemical makeup as Oxine. If I read it right the FDA took it off the market.
I really had a busy day and just finally wore out. I had to lay down for a little while. Then I had to get back out and feed the birds. I had an opportunity to sell some more birds this afternoon but I asked them to wait until tomorrow. I just knew I didn't have the energy to chase birds again today.
So with luck maybe I'll sell a few more tomorrow.
I had 3 white English Orps hatch today so I hope they do well. It's kind of hard to tell them from some of the other chicks cause white Orpingtons are born with color on them.
I've been wondering if I could build a wooden multi layer brooder. I am just not sure what heat source I would use for it. It seems like I keep having to replace bulbs. In the long run I'd be better off with a permanent heat source of some kind. The problem of course is having something that wouldn't break the bank for multiple pens.
I really am getting to the point I want to get things done and get breeds divided. I'm tired of working so hard all the time on these projects. I like building stuff but I'd rather do it when I chose..not all the time.
Just an FYI- I woke up about 3am to one of my little chicks screaming this morning. I got up to see what was going on and the little girl was completely stuck in one of the feeder holes! (Those round bases that have a plastic screw on container). The feeder must have ran out of just enough food for her to get herself in and fall through the hold and then probably through the struggling to get out, she actually got herself stuck even more - her head and wings were on the outside of the base and the rest of her body stuck and wedged underneath. I got out my scissors and as carefully as one can at 3am, cut her out. She is fine. I have 2 of these feeders in the brooder and I usually just make sure one of them is full before going to bed - I will from now on make sure both are full to help prevent this from happening again.
