Nice birds. I'm pretty sure I bid on those pigeons. Along with about every other pigeon, half of the pheasants and ornamental waterfowl. Enjoy the Show Kings!

So just picked up my feed from Renee! It looks and smells so good, I might eat it! I hope the girls and guys like it!

Thanks!

Well, a change of plans..... again. This old barn blew down in a windstorm last June. All that is left standing is the front of the barn. (This is an older picture.) We were going to rebuild the half that blew down, but after looking and thinking and scratching our heads we have come to the conclusion we should just tear the whole thing down and start over.

This old barn sits on a good concrete floor. We will save that. It is 20' x 40'. The front of it faces south. I can put runs off to the north and the south with a walkway in the middle. Anyone know of a link to poultry building designs? As big as it is, I should have room for all the birds I want plus supplies and feed. I'm going to be adding a few more varieties of chickens in small numbers, as well as one variety of turkeys and maybe a few guineas.

I'm hoping we can get it done this summer.

I want a real farm!!!

I wand hooved creatures and big waterfowl and things with beards and manes!!!

I don't know of any links, but there's an awesome book at TSC that has great plans for all sizes. Best of luck!

Are any of you down in the Kansas way in the market for one of my black or blue orp roosters? I have them listed on CL for $10 but if I were to find a good home, they wouldnt be that much. My black is just gorgeous, and the blue's are up and coming. Right now they are living in my dog house on the porch and peer in my kitchen window every morning to give me a heart attack!

Oh and Kansaseq, have your WH ducklings hatched yet? Would love some eggs, or adults, but guess I would take ducklings if I had to. Messy buggers.... I think I saw your CL ad.....not sure how far you are tho..

Went to the Saline center consignment auction yesterday, good heavens! North of Fairbury, must have been 2,000 people there, no way were they prepared for that many. Quite the sale, but people need to control their kids. Kids kept going around kicking cages to make the birds jump. One boy hurt a very pretty pied peacock pretty badly, I wanted to slap him silly!

Hi Thndrdancr,
The ducklings are due on Wed or Thursday, but apparently I forgot to tell THEM that. They are all 10 pipping as we speak!

I don't have any adults available, but have a short a waiting list for eggs. I only have 2 hens, so doing small orders of 12 or less. Not sure exactly where Lincoln is, but it must be at least 4 hours or more away.
This clutch of babies is spoken for,but I'll have 8-12 available again in another month.
I'll post pics of the babies at the end of the week when I'm off work.

approaching day 20 something on my lil mamma bantam she has 14 eggs under her - none are hers.... lol no way she kept em all warm but hoping to see at least a couple of chicks... knowing my luck they will be roos.... my eldest daughter is already upset that one of the chicks from last fall appears to be showing testosterone...

i am so blessed - my dad found a small tiller a garage sale and got it working ... so i am not doing the shovel and hoe thing for my garden this year!

i ordered 40 bucks worth of trees and bushes from burgess nursery - and they came yesterday - so guess i will be planting trees tonight.... they look pretty dead already but the brochure says they are dormant - wish me luck!

and one of my girls is laying green eggs.. lol - people are scared to eat em
