Consolidated Kansas

Gee whiz! Those pens looked better than some that people end up with, much less tear down!

I'm hoping to get my barn block all picked up Friday and the cement slab cleaned off.(Gotta scoop up about 4-6" of poop off there.) Then I'll have to scrounge up the rest of my building material and hopefully some free labor from my sons. It'll take some time!

More about nuclear power. Wolf creek has redundant back up safety systems for everything. I live about 3.5 miles from there and feel very safe. Most of Japan's power plants are older and none of them are under the same scrutiny and regulations we have here in the U.S.
Disaster can happen anywhere. I am all for wind farms as long as they let farmers continue to use them as pastures for livestock, but even those are dangerous. Think how many people have died in coal mines? Not safe either.
I believe we should all harness any part of the earth's energy we can and make the best of it. I'd personally like to see municipalities put solar panels on all of their tall roofs. Think of all the energy they could latch on to for nothing.
My son graduated as a nuclear/ mechanical engineer from KSU himself. I've had my own hand in the reactor there.

Those were state of the art reactors in Japan with triple redundancy...but the diesel generators to maintain the cooling systems only had 11 hours of life prior to shutdown, and this event was bigger than anyone dreamed. My understanding is that our plants have 4 hours of generator time...which isn't quite as nice.

It's pretty frightening to think about a system that takes weeks to neutralize, and the cooling ponds can't ever be just let alone. I'm looking for my own dome...I could manage my own ecosystem, right?

Yes It is true I bent a crowbar

Just spent the last 30 minutes watching other muppets skits. Charlie our almost 5 year old love Animal and our two older boys like Statler and Waldorf and the Swedish Chef.

Sad thing is Charlie does not know who Kermit the frog is.
