Consolidated Kansas

KSKingBee you've got a lot done since I was there. You only had the carport and the cement when I saw it. I wish I could make some progress like that. I still have peas in the trailer for lack of anyplace to put them. My plans for a new shelter haven't worked yet. I'm still trying to get the people to sell me the structure so I can put it up.
We're forecast to have a very cold weekend and snow tomorrow. I'm certainly not happy about that.

It seems that progress always comes at a cost, like not getting something else done that needs to be done. Honey extracted, bees fed, taxes done, etc. But the poor birds being cooped up inside was really wearing on me and it just had to take precedence. Now to get caught up on those taxes, then get that other run done, it's time to get those pea breeders separated and used to each other.

Isn't Poppa P looking good? These are not 'his' girls, we have to move them around soon.

Look at the length of the hurl on those train feathers!

KsKingBee, he's so pretty! I did like my peas, but it seemed like I just didn't do well with those or turkeys here. Maybe I have too many chickens I don't know.

5 fluffy chicks in the incubator so far for Valentine's Day!

KSKingbee he is beautiful. Is he a purple? Trying to tell from the pictures. I have a purple girl that might lay this year. I need to get her moved soon as well. I'm going to put her with my purple pied boy in hopes of getting more purples.
I also have an anomaly. I have a black shoulder that does not have eyes in his tail feathers. He is a beautiful bird but the absence of eyes sure has me baffled. Have you seen that before?
TaraBella I have chicks due tomorrow. I haven't checked to see if I have any pips yet. I would rather they wait a day because I'll have more time tomorrow.
I am going to have to prepare a place to brood them.
I'm putting off going out to work. That wind makes it miserable.

He is a Purple Black Shoulder that Chookschicks hatched from eggs she got from Deerman. You should consider putting a Cameo hen in with that Purple Pied cock, you might end up with some Peach Pieds. One of those White hen chicks I got from you shows some Spaulding, did the parents show any?

Yes, sometimes young birds will lack the eyes until the feather fully develops, they should look normal before long or next year for sure.

Hi Everyone! Thought I'd post some pics I took today. The alpacas are new. Should have crias late spring if all goes well. :) I'm also getting some Ameraucana chicks from Paul Smith this spring that I'm very excited about! :)
