Consolidated Kansas

Pat Doll where are you located? It might help to find her a home. Sorry to hear about your other hen.

Pat, you're just in Topeka, right? I have a hunch you can find a hen around here. I've got some juvenile pullets, and if you put 2 in with her, she'll naturally be top hen, and they'll settle down quickly. Others around here likely have some to choose from, too! Don't give up!

Renee, My Salmon Faverolles are LF not bantam. I have several of this year's cockerels and maybe a few pullets. I also think I have some young chicks. Send that person my way if you can. I will be selling a large group of birds after the first of the week to a person who buys all my extras for commercial reasons. I'd rather sell to an individual than see them become Campbell's soup. I don't mind the mixed breed cockerels going so much, ( I have to pay for chicken feed with something!) but hate to see the purebreds end up in someone's bowl.

Yes, in Topeka - I'd love to have a RIR - the one I lost was the sweetest -- I noticed a HUGE hawk yesterday evening - AND, IT's BACK !!!! My leghorn won't come out from under the deck.
She spent all morning at my kitchen glass door -- gawd! She's probably just trying to figure out where her partner is. I'm sure if I look long enough, I'll find some.
Thanks for the reply.

I would definitely give her two younger friends so they don't get overwhelmed, nor will she. It will be easy as can be to add them that way. Let me know if you want some of my girls- lots of folks coming this weekend.

Sad day

My back won't let me do much and the wife is tired of taking care of my girls. So I posted my coop and girls on CL and they sold in less than an hour! The girls were showing off for their new owners, even flying up to roost on my arm and get some scratch. They told me their granddaughter will love these birds as their other chickens are not so tame. I'm going to miss those girls. Hopefully my back will recover one day and I can start over.
