ugh, I got a place to keep birds and now I'm itching to get started. I had a huge series falling outs at work yesterday and wound up taking the day off today to try to get on at a different sale barn but I didn't get it. I'm not even sure I want to go back (and not sure they want me back) but I'm kind of stuck. I bought a power ball ticket today so hopefully it pulls through and I can just piddle around and be merry. I wish I could raise a few birds and make the 375 dollars a month that I was making (in good months) at the sale barn. Sorry for the rant, I'm just bummed about my work situation and excited to get birds again. I had a great couple hours this afternoon working out on the farm trying to get things ready.

Ivy, that is Fluff, the daddy dog. He is just a big ole baby. He is a pretty boy for sure. Of course Marshmallow is my favorite cause she is definitely a mama's girl. She has such a pretty face. She's not as big as Fluff but she is such an awesome dog. I would just die if I lost her. I guess that is why I think I am wanting to keep a pup. I had another previous buyer saying he wants to buy another pup. He was going to breed the girl he got from me but he's just dying to have another one. This would be his 3rd Pyrenees. His oldest one is over 10 years old and they are afraid that she will die in the next year or so from old age.
I don't know about the new site all that much. I guess I need to get used to it.

I made it!! I was kinda lost yesterday without BYC! Brrrrrr! It is freezing out. It is now snowing here and the wind is vicious! It just cuts right through me and the cold makes my knees and hands hurt so bad I could cry. I hope nothing sticks. I hate the snow and cold. Well, that is enough whining from me, I hope everyone is staying warm!

Well I made it to get the feed & got back in time to get the feeders filled before it got too dark, BRRRR, that wind is horrible & the temp has been dropping steadily, it's now 37 here. I just looked at the radar & the snow should be getting here any time, yuck! I hope it doesn't stick. I'm supposed to meet DH at work at midnight & take my car to the shop to get the detailing done. We're getting ready to trade it in for a new one & there are some things we wanted buffed out on the paint job before we take it in. Anyway, I hope it doesn't get too nasty tonight that I don't feel safe driving to Ark City, if it does we may have to postpone until a better day. I don't drive on ice or snow that well any more, so I usually just stay home.

Danz, Fluff is a beautiful dog! I hope mine turn out to look as good as him. I had people here this afternoon & they were trying to get my pups to come up to them & they just backed up away from them. So far they won't come to anybody buy DH & I & that's fine with me, I don't want them to be friends with just anybody that comes here, what is the point in having dogs for protection if they do that? I know they're here to protect the chickens from predators, but they should also protect me if there is a threat. The two of them are still young enough & small enough so far to both fit in the dog house in the run, but now they're starting to fight over even that, so it looks like I may be taking the other igloo away from the Ameraucanas & moving the other spare dog house into their pen for them, when the weather isn't so nasty that is. It sounds like Marshmallow is getting close to having her pups from what you're describing, I can't wait to see what they look like. I hope it all goes easy for her & everything turns out good.

rittert, I'm sorry you had such a bad day yesterday, I hope it all works out for you.

Hawkeye, yeah I think there are some things we will all have to get used to on this board. I know they were talking about trying to work out the auction in the future, maybe with time they'll find a work around for it. The good thing about it all is that we're all in the same boat, so we have to learn together & we can help each other. I had hoped to take some pics today, but it didn't happen since the weather changed too early & it got too windy to get out there & do it. I'm glad you got a pic up of your rooster though, so we could see him, he's a cutie.

Well DH forgot to bring in wood for me, so I guess I had better go back out there in the wind & get some before it gets too awful, ugh I hate having to go back out again.

I just checked our radar here, and the snow line is just now starting to hit Lawrence... I don't mind the snow, it's this wind that crazy! I can hear in here in the house and that's rare for my place! Sounds like a huge storm outside right now.

Do ya'll name your chicks? I've been trying to think of names before they arrive (which will be March 7th!!!!). I"m getting the four, and so far I have three... Gertrude, Henrietta, and Bertha. Trying to think of a third that will fit.
