Josie, I'm glad to see you back, yeah it would be a little hard to type while nursing a baby. Babies just get like that sometimes, it's hard to say what sets them off. It sounds like she is growing like a weed though. I'm sorry about your turkey, that was one huge turkey. I lost my tom so I'm hoping to raise some of his babies & hopefully get another one. I have two right now in a rubbermaid tub that seem to be doing OK so far with two little chicks as tutors. I just never thought before about birds not knowing how to eat until I got baby turkeys & baby peafowl too. They're a lot different to get started than chicks.
I was so happy today to have the 35 chicks leave & go to Topeka with the lady that ordered them today, yay! Now I have a lot less mouths to feed.
I have one more hoop coop to get built soon. I need to build this one & make it a double pen with doors at both ends instead of just one. That way half can house my Barnevelders & the other half can be a grow-out pen for chicks that aren't big enough or old enough to go out in the general flock yet. I think if I build it the same size as the other two it will give me enough room to do that & actually probably will be easier to do in some ways.
HEChicken, that was scary about those coyotes, I'm glad they took off when your dogs came out!
Welcome KSjayhawk!
Today has been such a beautiful day out, I'm really enjoying it, I hope you all are too.
