Consolidated Kansas

We haven't gotten any more rain either. I need to get out and take care of things out there. I was going to do some baking and instead spent the entire afternoon cleaning up the kitchen counters and washing dishes. Now I'm behind on everything else. I just felt like working inside for a change. I never did my baking either.
Guess I'd better go care for all my feathered friends.

Put eggs on lockdown last night to hatch on Friday. I noticed some chirping as I was moving the out of the turner. Tonight I have two dry chicks and tons of pipping.
Anyone need giant cochin babies?
How are things going now? Did you get more?

Trish, I also have some of the litter boxes I got at the recycling center. I also found some plastic cafeteria trays that I placed upside down and screwed to the tops to cover the holes.

I'm going to have to check out the recycling center in Wichita some time when we go up there, we don't have one around here. That is a great idea about using the trays on the top of the litter boxes. I was looking for something to cover up those holes with. Thanks for the idea!

Howdy all from Maine!!!! Hope everyone is well! We are in the thick of unpacking and the house is a total disaster but then again what else is new?! Amelia is settling in to our new digs and just LOVES it that her grammy and papa show up to play at this house! All our critters survived the 1700 mile journey including our 3 geese and 10 chickens we brought along!

If anyone has advice on how to keep chickens out of the road let me know! We are on black top here and they won't stop going out there and we are on kind of a busy road! I don't want them to get hit and have never had a problem with them going anywhere near the road before!

Oh I don't envy you the unpacking either, good luck with that. I'm glad you made the trip & all of the critters arrived OK. I have no advice on keeping chickens out of the road, maybe someone else can tell you that. I'm glad you stopped in to give us an update!

So good to see you here, Josiechick. How is your DH liking his new job? I am sure its a big change. I'm sure going to miss you guys.
I had the problem of chickens in the road which is another reason I put in my fencing I did. Expensive but worth it. How did the dogs do with the change? Are they finding their new territory? Did you install the invisible fence again? Sure wish I could drop in to see Amelia too. Let me know when you are ready for company. I've always wanted to visit Maine. LOL

I'm trying to find an upcoming pullorum testing date or if anyone has any antigen. Central to SE. We had a few little girls miss the one we had. Any help is appreciated. Their fair starts July 9th. Thanks a bunch.

Can you call your local county extension office & ask them if they know of testers in the area?
