Well it hasn't bee raining hard here but it did rain very lightly pretty much all day yesterday & I think most of the night. We sure can use anything we can get as well, it was a dry winter.

I guess I'll have to figure something out for an alternate place for the delivery people to leave our boxes.
Another piece of irony: I was just gushing about how much I have fallen in love with the GP breed not all that long ago. Go figure! She's still an incredibly sweet dog, and I still love her, but sheeesh! Note: there was nothing edible in the box (unless you count silicon, beeswax or glycerin as edible... they are some of the things in the box that she chewed on)GPs tend to be pack rats and they love to chew on things. They love plastic bottles especially. I would have thought your dog was old enough that she wouldn't be doing that any more but some just take a while. Oops! My error. I thought that was Prairie Fleur, not you Lizzy. Reading too fast and trying to rush. They tend to chew on things until they get about 2 1/2 years old or so. They love collecting treasures regardless of age. I have a plastic storage box, like a patio box where all my packages are left. It does have a sign on it that says Please place all packages here. If you have a regular postal person, fed ex and UPS person just tell them next time you see them where you want your packages. Since I have a locked gate no one can get to my front step anyway but it happened when they could. I purchased the box before I had the gate and now it sits outside the gate. My geese would do the same thing as well. They've been known to open any box or chew on anything they can get their beaks around.View attachment 1315562
Today has been one of those LONG days where everything seems to go wrong. After a long afternoon/evening in town, I got home to discover that my Great Pyrenees had chewed up the box that FedEx delivered to my front step today. She had also chewed up several things that were inside the box, ironically she left alone the chew toys that I had bought for her that were also in the box.I guess I'll have to figure something out for an alternate place for the delivery people to leave our boxes.

So, has anyone else had to learn the hard way about a GP and their chewing habits? Tell me your stories! Surely, I'm not the only one that's had a GP chew things they really shouldn't!
I have Cream Legbars but they aren't back to laying at all. They really are a warm weather layer & it's very aggravating when you have orders to fill & every day go out & nothing. I'm planning to sell my breeding group when hatching season is over, I just haven't been that impressed with them. Instead I am working on a Sapphire project, Legbar rooster over white Leghorn hens. The chicks should lay blue eggs & a lot of them.Hey all. I need to get some legbar hatching eggs or babies. Does anyone have any? I guess I’m going to have to breakdown and drive to get some, no one around Topeka seems to have any.
Yep GPs do like to chew on things till they're mature. Mine used to go collect everyone's trash & bring it home from the neighbor's & string it around all over my yard. They don't do that much any more but the females are 6 years old now. We also have a big deck box down at our gate where the USPS & other delivery people leave our packages mainly due to our driveway being so bad.View attachment 1315562
